Post lockdown and working together during covid-19
With the government announcing a further three week lockdown, it is important
to stay positive, keep up to date with what is available through the 'support finder' tool to help businesses and the self-employed and use the tools that are being provided to motivate ourselves and our staff. The National Hair and Beauty Federation is urging the Government to support hair salons and barbershops by guiding them on the measures to be taken once the lockdown is over.
During the coronavirus pandemic, we have been honoured to work with our brands and see how they have all come together to offer support through online training sessions, business support and campaigns. I am proud to be part of this amazing hairdressing community through these trying times. What this does show us all, we will get through this together.
It's easy to say 'stay motivated', how you do it is not always that simple. There are online motivational sessions happening everyday on social media, cutting and colouring techniques, business ideas for when we reopen. Protecting our mental health is crucial during these trying times. Here are some suggestions, if you are not already doing them.
- Practice self care
- Set up a buddy group with friends or colleagues
- Distract yourself
- Be kind to yourself
- Get Professional help if needed
We will get through this together, let us know what motivates you and what you would like to read about, stay safe everyone and thank you.
